Events and words have different effects at different times. For example, a few words spoken by a young child are interesting to everyone, but if we hear the same words from an adult, it will no longer be interesting.
One of the scientific facts that everyone knows is that the Earth is round and spherical, but what about the past? Did the people have the same idea of the Earth in the past?
Just as all people in the 21st century believe the Earth is round, 1400 years ago people believed the Earth was flat. During these years, a book called the Quran was revealed to the Muslim Prophet, and it contained a verse that contradicted everyone's belief.
God says in this verse:
Al-Ma‘ārij
فَلَآ أُقۡسِمُ بِرَبِّ ٱلۡمَشَٰرِقِ وَٱلۡمَغَٰرِبِ إِنَّا لَقَٰدِرُونَ
I swear by the Lord of the sunrises and sunsets that We are surely Capable
[i.e., Allah is the One Who determines the daily points of sunrise and sunset according to each season by the rotation of the earth around its axis.
