The theory of cosmic expansion was first proposed in 1922 by Alexander Friedmann and others such as Georges Lemaître, and over time it has now been proven that it has been happening since the Big Bang. The universe is constantly getting bigger, and all the galaxies we see are accelerating and moving away from us every second, and what is more interesting is that the greater the distance between us and a galaxy, the faster it moves away.
If a galaxy is 14.5 billion light years away from us, it would be impossible to reach it because at this distance and beyond, the speed of cosmic expansion is greater than the speed of light. What's more interesting is that this scientific discovery does not contradict the laws of physics (no object can move faster than the speed of light) because it is only the empty space between galaxies that is increasing, and the reason for this is the extremely high power of the Big Bang explosion and some also suggest dark energy. Of course, both causes can be correct simultaneously. It took almost a hundred years for this to come to this conclusion and for the cosmic expansion to be discovered and proven, while the Quran announced this event 14 centuries ago, and the owner and sender of the Quran is currently doing this work.
 
Adh-Dhāriyāt
وَٱلسَّمَآءَ بَنَيۡنَٰهَا بِأَيۡيْدٖ وَإِنَّا لَمُوسِعُونَ (47)
We built the heaven with might, and We are indeed expanding it.   ​​​​​​​
